Who Better Than You?

By: Bill Allen

Will Packer, the highly respected and sought-after writer, director, and producer of television programming and movies, has expanded his resume.

Who Better Than You? The Art of Healthy Arrogance & Dreaming Big is his first book. In a world filled with bias, fear, obstacles, and the unexpected, Who Better Than You? addresses the known and unknown factors and individuals that seek to define, diminish, derail, and destroy your dreams.

For more than two decades, Mr. Packer has produced popular and financially successful motion pictures, including Stomp the Yard, Ride Along, Think Like a Man, Girls Trip, This Christmas, Little a remake of the iconic film Big, which starred Tom Hanks. He has also produced several broadcast episodes for various television projects and has worked on the Academy Awards, the Oscars television program.

When asked about being involved in any future Oscars projects, Mr. Packer stated a definite “no.” Although he works and lives in Hollywood, his heart and home are in Florida. He is one of the more famous graduates of Florida A&M University and has been honored with the Florida A&M University Meritorious Achievement Award. Additionally, a building named the Will Packer Amphitheater is located on the Florida A&M campus. Mr. Packer’s experiences, confidence, and healthy arrogance have both guided and hindered his career.

In his first book, Who Better Than You?, he does not attempt to write an autobiography or provide friendly or fatherly advice. The book is not a self-help guide, a pitch-your-project manual, or a blueprint on directing, financing, or producing a million-dollar movie. Mr. Parker stated, "We all remember our setbacks more vividly than our victories. That is when, hopefully, you temper your arrogance with some humility". While aspiring to become a bestselling author, Mr. Packer is still looking to add to his comedy and drama theatrical archive with a major sci-fi movie. When asked about this, he modestly said, “I have not been offered the right project, but it could be in the future.”

Who Better Than You? offers a combination of life lessons, memories, insights, failures, and accolades.
